"I can't believe how fortunate I am to do something that I love so much for a living. What a wonderful opportunity to work with so many interesting patients to help improve their dental health and make them feel better about themselves."
After graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Psychology, Dr. Riley received his DDS and orthodontic training at the MCV-VCU School of Dentistry. After serving in the U.S. Navy in Japan, he has practiced orthodontics in Richmond since 1978. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and a past President of the Richmond Dental Study Club, Virginia Association of Orthodontists and the MCV-VCU Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation. In July 2000, Richmond Magazine surveyed 800 area dentists and recognized Dr. Riley as one of the top three orthodontists in the Richmond area.
When not practicing orthodontics, Dr. Riley and his wife, Julie, can be found actively engaged with JMU, where two of their three children graduated. In addition to supporting student athletes, they established the first privately funded Centennial Scholarship for minority students. Dr. Riley also enjoys hiking, golf, photography, and landscaping.
